Our Story

Anchoring a Legacy of Coastal Hospitality with Pride

Our story began in 2015 when the Harrington family acquired Topsail Realty, a longstanding vacation rental management firm on Topsail Island, NC. Over the next seven years, the company expanded and was rebranded as Carolina Retreats, flourishing as its management portfolio grew substantially. In 2022, the acquisition of Carolina Retreats by VTrips Holdings enabled the Harringtons to launch Carolina Resort Collection, focusing on bespoke, community-rooted properties like the restored Beach House Motel & Suites and the beloved Tranquil House Inn. Each property in our collection is a chapter in an ongoing story of commitment to excellence in hospitality.

Our goal is to provide some of the best family-friendly
NC beach vacation experiences for generations to come.

Meet the Harrington Family

Mike and Holly Harrington are the passionate owners and entrepreneurs behind Carolina Resort Collection. With a long history of hospitality in the area, they’ve transformed their love for the region into a collection of bespoke properties along the North Carolina coast. From The Tranquil House Inn, where Mike proposed to Holly, to the most recent collection addition of The Waterfront Trellis event venue, each location reflects their commitment to community-centered experiences. As area locals, the Harringtons are not just business owners; they are stewards of the region’s unique beauty, sharing it through their business ventures.
